Marvel Comics Teams Up With NY Giants For Unique 'G-Men' Merch & Comic – Screen Rant

Marvel Comics and the NFL join together to promote a special season-long event featuring the New York Giants football team with the Mighty Avengers.
On October 24, 2021, Marvel Comics and the NFL’s New York Giants will debut a unique collaboration that brings together two of the nation’s most popular pastimes, reading comics and watching football. The collaboration, which was announced last July, includes a number of exclusive Marvel + Giants promotions and events over the remaining weeks of the football season. These events will be focused on entertaining fans, as well as deepening and expanding fan engagement from both a comics and football perspective. Of course, Marvel and the Giant also hope that the collaboration will help persuade comic book fans to watch more Giants football, and Giants fans to read more Marvel comics.
Events will kick off this Sunday, which Marvel has branded “Marvel Super Hero Day” at MetLife Stadium, where the Giants will be facing the Carolina Panthers. The first 30,000 fans in the gates will receive an exclusive copy of the G-Men comic book, a limited series, which will feature “Earth’s Mightiest Super-Heroes,” the Avengers, teaming up with the members of the Giants football team fighting to protect the world from evil. The print copy of the comic will be followed by the publication of a virtual edition of the G-Men comic book that will be made available to fans, worldwide shortly after the game on the Marvel website. Since August, fans have been able to purchase superhero-themed Giants merchandise via the team’s website and at selected stores.

Giants players Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley, Sterling Shepard, Leonard Williams, Logan Ryan and Blake Martinez will star alongside the Avengers in the exclusive comic. During the game, fans will also be able to enjoy a range of collaborations featuring Marvel + Giants-themed entertainment including video broadcasts during breaks in play, interactive games on the concourse and near the food stalls, and player stats will be broadcast with superhero-like animations.
While Marvel’s creators are usually in charge of a character’s personality, in this case, Giants team members who are featured in the comic were given extensive access to the creators in the work-up to the series debut. This allowed the players to make sure the characters are as authentic as possible. Teaming the Giants with the Avengers is the perfect combination of two New York metropolitan area icons. Indeed, assuming that most Giants fans have at least one member of the family who likes, admires, or follows a Marvel superhero, what better way would there be for fans to spend a Sunday afternoon than combining superheroes and sport? It offers something for every family member to enjoy. It is an interesting concept that has the potential to really pay off for both Marvel and the Giants.
As mentioned, Sunday will not be the end of the Marvel + Giants collaboration. In the coming weeks there are plans for further events including “meet and greet” sessions with Marvel writers, artists, and other creators, superhero comic drawing workshops, and other activities, all done during New York Giants games. This is not the first time Marvel Comics and the NFL have teamed up. It is unlikely to be the last.
